Nursery Funding - Early Years Funding Entitlement (EYFE)
Marriotts Nursery school is registered with West Sussex County Council to receive funding for all eligible two, three and four year olds.

Funding Explained
The UK government offers various funding options for nurseries, including childcare for working parents and Tax-Free Childcare schemes, aimed at supporting families with early years education costs.

15 hours childcare for all families for children ages 3 to 4 years
All 3 to 4 year olds in England can get up to 570 funded hours per year from the term after your child turns 3 years old through to starting school. This is usually taken as 15 hours a week for 38 weeks of the year.

If at any point, you start work after your child has turned the relevant age, meaning you meet the income threshold for 30 hours childcare, you will need to apply.

Childcare for Working Parents
Eligibility: Working parents in England may be eligible for 30 hours of funded childcare for children aged nine months to four years, provided they work at least 16 hours a week. If not eligible for 30 hours, parents can access 15 funded hours of childcare for children aged three to four, regardless of income.

Eligible parents of 2-year-old children may also be entitled to 15 hours childcare support if they receive some additional forms of government support.

When to apply
It can take 20 minutes to apply. You may find out if you’re eligible straight away, but it can take up to 7 days. Once your application has been approved, you’ll get a funded code to give to your childcare provider.
You have to reconfirm your eligibility every 3 months. If you apply more than 3 months before the term starts, you’ll have to reconfirm your eligibility in your account in order to keep your code valid.
If you already have a tax free funding account you may have to wait until you reconfirm your information to apply for your code.

You can check the latest information about whether you are eligible for up to 30 free hours of childcare a week and Tax-Free Childcare for you child/children by visiting: www.beststartforlife.gov.uk

The Nursery is also registered for Tax-Free Childcare.

Additional cost options
Government funding is intended to pay for 15–30 hours a week of high-quality childcare for all 2–4-year-olds. The Government funding does not cover the costs of snacks. We therefore have two options for parents to help cover the cost of snacks that are not included in Government funding.

Option 1: Snack Contribution – Parents can choose to make a small payment to
support snack provisions of 30p per morning session.

Option 2: Healthy Snack Contribution – Parents can bring in a healthy snack for the nursery’s
fruit bowl.

If choosing to bring a snack, please select from the following approved items: Fresh Fruit & Vegetables Apples, pears, bananas, raisins, strawberries, melon, oranges, cucumber, carrot sticks. Other Healthy Options – Breadsticks or crackers. A fruit bowl will be available each day where parents can place their contributions.
Thank you for your support in ensuring the children have access to healthy snacks throughout the day.
